VfxScaleByVelocityData

16.10 Value struct

Class Documentation

Edit documentation

A speed-dependent scale factor of a VfxPhysicsScaleModifier. When Enabled is set, the particle's scale is multiplied on every step by a factor between MinScaleFactor and MaxScaleFactor:

t = min(speed, VelocityThreshold) / VelocityThreshold, factor = lerp(MinScaleFactor, MaxScaleFactor, t)

speed is the particle's world speed over the previous step, in world units per second. It includes every kind of motion, displacements too. The interpolation is per axis.

Properties

Enabled

Bool = false
Edit documentation

Turns the factor on. When clear, the other values are not used.

MaxScaleFactor

Embed<VfxVector3DynamicProperty> = { "Vector3": null }
Edit documentation

Factor at VelocityThreshold and above, per axis. Evaluated once per particle at spawn. Left unset, it is 1 on every axis.

VelocityThreshold

F32 = 0
Edit documentation

Speed, in world units per second, at which the factor reaches MaxScaleFactor. A value of 0 or less is treated as a tiny positive number, so any motion gives the full MaxScaleFactor.
