The root of the running parts of components. When a system instance creates a component emitter, every component of its VfxComponents graph creates one running part: the five slots and every entry of the components list. The running part holds the per-instance state of the component. The emitter calls it on these events:

Event Argument Order of the calls
Spawn the number of new particles; they are the last particles of the emitter lifetime, physics, render, child, geometry, components
Particle death the index of the particle render, physics, child, geometry, components
Step the current time and the time delta, in seconds physics, render, child, geometry, components

The lifetime slot does not get the particle death and step calls. It has its own hooks for the state machine, the particle ages and the spawn count, described on VfxComponents.

Particle removal. After the death calls, the particle is removed from the emitter. If the primitive keeps particle order, the later particles move down by one. Otherwise the last particle moves into the free index.

The running parts are deleted with the emitter. Particles that are still alive at that point get no death call.
