VfxFacingModeCameraFacingPerAxis

Class Documentation

Edit documentation

A facing mode that aims each particle at an aim point built per axis, with world +Y as up. Forward runs from the particle to the aim point.

Aim point axis Source
X the camera's X if AlignYaw is set, else the particle's
Y the camera's Y if AlignPitch is set, else the particle's
Z always the camera's
  • Both set gives the same result as VfxFacingModeCameraFacing.
  • AlignYaw alone turns the particle about the vertical to face the camera and keeps it upright.
  • AlignPitch alone aims the particle within the vertical plane that runs along world Z through the particle.
  • Neither points forward along world +Z or -Z, toward the camera's side. The particle collapses when the camera's Z equals the particle's.

The aim point works like the one of the legacy camera alignment flags, but the up axis here is world +Y, not the camera's up vector.

The particle's own rotation is applied inside that frame.
